What changes in Expert mode?

Instead of four answer buttons, Expert mode lets you search and choose from all the birds eligible for the current quiz. It changes how you answer, not which birds are included. In Challenge, a correct answer is worth one point. See Quiz modes.

Why do I hear the same bird again?

Training uses the Leitner spaced-repetition system: birds you are still learning return sooner, while birds you identify consistently appear less often. Repeats are normal, especially in a small quiz. See Learning and scoring.

Where can I see my learning progress?

The Achievements tabs is there to check your progress, there you can see all of your scores, with a global progression score based on birds learning status. Open the My Lists tab in the search to see each bird's learning status. Your answers update that status in both Training and Challenge.

Can I use ChirpQuiz offline?

No, you cannot play quizzes offline at the moment. However, you can still browse the app, see your scores and search for birds offline. While you are offline, no images, sounds or wikipedia abstract will be available.

Why is a recording missing or not playing?

Quiz recordings come from Xeno-canto and need an internet connection. Check your connection and media volume, then try again.
