This privacy policy applies to the ChirpQuiz mobile application (hereby referred to as "Application") created by Julien Levarlet (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is provided "AS IS".

- 100% Local Storage: All your scores, achievements, and game progress stay strictly on your device.
- No Account Required: You can play without creating an account or logging in.
- No Tracking or Profiling: We do not collect personal data, track your location, or build user profiles.
- Zero Personal Server Data: We do not operate servers that store your personal information.
ChirpQuiz is designed to respect your privacy. The Application does not collect or store any personally identifiable information on external servers.
All game-related data (such as your scores, unlocked achievements, and quiz progress) is stored locally on your device only.
The Application does not track your precise location, nor does it collect user analytics or display targeted advertisements.
Third-Party Content ServicesTo display bird images and audio recordings, the Application connects directly to public APIs. When your device fetches this content, it makes a standard HTTP request directly to their servers.
As with any internet connection, these third-party servers automatically receive standard technical metadata necessary to fulfill the request:
- App Identifier (User-Agent): An HTTP header identifying "ChirpQuiz" so third-party APIs can monitor traffic according to their fair-use policies.
- Your IP Address: Transmitted automatically by your network to receive the requested image or sound.
No user account, user profile, or game data is ever sent. For details on how these services log and handle technical network data (such as IP addresses), please refer to their respective privacy policies:
External LinksThe Application may contain links to external websites (such as Wikipedia, Xeno-canto, GBIF, IUCN Red List). If you click on a third-party link, you will be redirected to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by the Service Provider. We advise you to review the privacy policy of these websites.
Data Retention and DeletionSince all your game progress and settings are stored locally on your device, uninstalling the Application will automatically and permanently delete all app data. No data remains on external servers because none was ever sent.
Children's PrivacyThe Application does not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, children's privacy is protected by design. If you have any concerns as a parent or guardian, please contact us at birdquiz.contact@gmail.com.
Legacy Users (Google Play Games Data)If you used a previous version of ChirpQuiz that was integrated with Google Play Games, your historical scores and achievements may still be stored on Google's servers. Since the current version of the app no longer connects to Google Play Games, this data is no longer accessed or used.
If you wish to permanently delete your past Play Games data for ChirpQuiz, you can do so directly through your Android device settings:
- Open the Google Play Games app on your Android device.
- Tap the three-dot menu icon (or profile avatar) and go to Settings.
- Select Delete Play Games account & data.
- Under "Delete individual game data", find ChirpQuiz and tap Delete.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page. You are advised to review this page periodically for any updates.
